QOS مخفف Quality Of Service می باشد. از این مفهوم در شبکه برای تغییر اولویت و ارجحیت بسته ها یا فریم ها استفاده می شه. خیلی از مواقع هست که از بین بسته هایی که دارن تو شبکه ارسال می شود یکسری از بسته ها باید سریعتر از بسته های دیگه ارسال شود . بنابراین برای اولویت بندی کردن بسته تو شبکه از QOS استفاد می شود. داخل بسته یکسری بیت وجود داره (اصولا 3 بیت برای QOS رزرو شده) که دیوایس های شبکه (روتر یا سوئیچ) از اونا برای تغییر اولویت بسته ها استفاده می کند. در خیلی از مواقع COS یا Class Of Service نیز به همان معنی QOS می باشد.
